Privacy policy

Smart Ledger AI (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Contact details such as your name, email, phone number and business name
- Information you provide in enquiries or during consultations
- For clients: business financial records, payroll and employee details, ATO correspondence and other information needed to deliver our services
- Website usage data, such as pages visited, browser type and how you arrived at our site
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp, along with your WhatsApp name and phone number
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide quotes
- To deliver bookkeeping, payroll, reporting and forecasting services
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations
- To measure and improve our advertising
- To improve our website and services
We do not sell your personal information. We only send marketing emails if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Disclosure
We may share information with your accountant, tax agent or BAS agent when you ask us to, and with trusted software providers (such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Dext and email services) that help us deliver our services. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia under their own privacy and security commitments.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook Pixel) to understand how visitors use the site and to measure and improve our advertising. These services may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with theGoogle Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Google andFacebook settings.
When you contact us through WhatsApp, your messages are handled under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
Security
We use cloud systems with encryption and multi-factor authentication, restrict access to authorised staff, and securely destroy information when it is no longer needed. We keep records for at least the period required by law, generally five years for tax records.

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailinginfo@smartledgerai.com.au.
